Tips For Churning and Burning?

I've never really done it, or done it properly.

I bought about 18k's worth of profile links from fiverr.com for a test website and it didn't really seem to do a great deal of anything.

Can anyone recommend places to go to get decent churn and burn links?

Cheers.

If the question is legit, this kind of activities really works on the main fields:

  • adult (P-o-r-n)
  • pills of various kinds
  • poker and similar

It is a while since I did SEO but the links have to be relevant to your site and from a source with reputation. Any old link will not do

Over the years the relevance of a link has become more important, i agree.

I disagree with relevant from a source with reputation. I have built my own links from sources that are relevant but have no reputation and they have improved the rank of the site they are linking to. But obviously a site with a good reputation provides more bang for buck. Although it's a pricey buck.

But the day of non relevant links being voided of any value seem to still be a fair way off.

Let's use some modern serps as an example. Maybe someone reading this thread has access to a link anayliser ( @webgeek for instance;)) , i've just canceled my subscription to majestic seo becuase it generally told me everything i could already envisage.

Number one website for d**rstep l*ans - stars replace o's. My guess is that the links propping it up above a government authorised website are 90%+ off target spam.
15minutedoorsteploans.co.uk and it's been ranking for quite some time now.

Meaning that they are making money.

I know, because i was making circa £50 a day off that term in number one on ad5ense alone.

There's 3 of those sites above the GOV result here, with 15minute being in the lead, still.

IMHO, if it passed a manual review and wasn't torched to the ground, I'd be shocked. Trust 11, Authority 22 with most of the backlinks coming from what look to be blog network (topically related) sites. None are particularly strong on their own.

The inbound anchor text distribution is well spread, particularly for a keyword rich domain. 5 page site, that's all. meaning 1 page of content and 4 helper pages.

Dupe content is minimal though the representative example is the same or almost the same as a boatload of other sites.

------------

These are the types of sites the algorithm is supposed to be cleaning out, not putting on top. Then again, if searcher intent and satisfaction is the new craze, then perhaps this is the type of site people want/need, and not some government informational portal that defines what it is and nothing more.

You'd think this niche would be ripe for more competition with a unique proposition and some quality content.

Yep, it's been lodged there for quite a while now. Clearly a simple site designed to be spammed to the top until it gets hit. The serps are full of dodgy looking loans sites (although that one looks easier on the eye than some) that get spammed to high heaven and rank well.

The searcher wont get satisfaction with that site, the apply form appears to be a payday loan one :D There aren't many affs for door loans but it's easier to rank for than payday so i think they try their luck with applicants on payday instead. Advertising standards would take issue with it.

To some extent i am glad the google algo still struggles with disregarding poor quality links that are easily manipulated, it keeps the playing field level for us small timers.

IMHO not really. Payday loans are one shot. Little chance of repeat sales...

I think the big brands that spend a fortune rely on repeat sales.

Smaller aff sites like that are just relying on people finding them on goog, not studying the site too closely, and entering their info, they just want a steady stream of traffic from people who'll put their info into the form and hit send.
