Tiny PC boxes - do you have one?

Does anyone have one of those really small micro size PCs, they about 4x4 inches usually with network, hdmi and usb outputs.

I need one but rather than search endlessly, will take any recommendations here first

Yes, got quite a few of those, depending on your requirements they come all in different power outputs. What do you wanna use it for?

I'm a bit of a mini ITX enthousiast myself, i would say these micro devices aren't much worth it, as they are very weak. Depends of course what you use it for, but personally i would recommend you get something slightly bigger, like the NUC or similar, that can handle office work easily and therefore will be more useful.

Yes, an Intel NUC has been my workstation for a couple of years now. Works great but the fan can be noisy when it's busy.

My wife has a Gigabyte Brix. That is silent.

I have an Asus Vivostick, its a Windows 10 home PC that just plugs direct into your monitor or tv and fits in your pocket. Fairly capable for stuff like media playback, web browsing etc.

Intel Nuc's are great, we standardised on HP Prodesk's a tiny bit bigger but with more options to vary based on end user usage and can buy as a complete machine. We also get a great resale price on this that is lower than end user MSRP, which helps!

I have four Raspberry Pis each doing different work. One is a VPN/adblocker/NFS server,one a plex media server, one a retro gaming machine, and one a cloud storage and surveillance camera. It depends on what you want to do with them whether or not you should get one, and if so which one.

Out of curiosity, what OS are your running on the RasPis?

I'm running raspbian on all of them, headless with the exception of the retro gaming, which has a full compliment (KB, Mouse, Joystick and shared monitor. Audio provided via pulseaudio on my main computer (so full 5:1 surround).

You can even build that yourself. These computers are great for office use.

I forgot their really professional name, something like....ehmm.. I do not remember, compoblocks or so, not sure. But I really plain to obtain some for my new business, they really cheap and do their job very well for sure. I am monitoring prices now.

Asrock has launched this year the DeskMini A300 which makes everything else obsolete I think.
