    I am able to understand logic. If he had 102 nominations he would be on the ballot paper and the Conservative party members would elect him. I also recognise that a compulsive liar will always lie to put themselves in the best possib;e light.

    No, I think he had the support to get onto the ballot, but Boris recognised any new tenure would be very short lived with a split party. He hoped to do a deal, couldn’t make one, so easier to withdraw, let the mess settle down in due course and then consider going again in the future.

    IF that was his thoughts, I would agree, the PM job is a poisoned chalice atm, only an idiot would truly want it, or a desperate politician. Plenty of both types in Westminster.

    the PM job is a poisoned chalice atm, only an idiot would truly want it, or a desperate politician.
    So which is Johnson? I, personally, go for a desperate politician, given that choice, although idiot runs it close.
