apologies, the courses would be 1 day courses containing topic areas such as leadership qualities, time/stress management, assertiveness etc and would be aimed at duty manager/team leader sort of roles. im relatively young at 22 and only have 5 years exp in retail store management but have been on a number of these courses over the past few years and found them quite dull so thought i could perhaps create something thats more interactive and enjoyable to delegates with a support/advice network in place for them once they have done the course and returned to their employers.

Hello Leckie.

First, congratulations on deciding to finally take the plunge. It does take some courage.

As for your business idea, I certainly wouldn't pay for a leadership course (though if it's free I might try it out).

This teaches you one thing (which may or may not be new to you): Some people might be interested in your service, but might not be willing to pay for it.

Following on from this, you may wish to think about a way to offer your courses free of charge, but monetise it in some other way (e.g. sponsorship of the event, etc.). Of course, I may be the only person in the country to think along these lines. It's your job to work out how many people are like me, and how many are willing to pay.

All the best.
