These side adverts

These side adverts or whatever they are called are a right nuisance. This is just my penneth work and I know these adverts pay for the forum which I use for free, but it is so annoying in that dripping tap kind of way.

If I want to look at them I will. Forcing them to follow me down the screen as I scroll down or to chase me as I scroll back up is not going to make me use their products any more than if I saw them sat there still.

They are the bunny boilers of adverts - YOU WILL LOOK AT ME! Please adverts, I am not interested in you. I am already commited. I may glance at you once in a while if you only be a bit more reserved and let me come to you, let me feel in control and I just may one day ring you up for that cup of tea. Desperation is not attractive and I know it may not be your fault, there may be issues, I like your colours by the way. My wife is in the kitchen.

Use firefox with an addon called nnscript, it blocks most adverts unless you let them on the website

I don't have a problem with them and like you say they help to pay for UKBF.

By disabling them in your browser you might actually be depriving UKBF of some revenue as some of their adverts (particularly the large one at the top) might pay out on an 'impressions' basis. In other words revenue may be generated each time the advert is loaded on a page, rather than every time it is clicked.

The smaller ads on the bottom right hand side I believe are paid for as a one off fee for a set period of time so would not impact on UKBF's revenue but if you block one advert you block them all.

I always type with my back to the screen using a mirror; that way the adverts are on the right hand side and don't bother me half as much.

The bouncy ones to the right. The only time that is really annoying is when scrolling up and down the screen and the quicker you do it, the quicker they "run after you".
