The Skyscraper Method

Has anyone used this for link building before? I knew what it was a while ago but never really paid much attention. I've realised today that it's pretty much the best thing since sliced bread for link building. Add your little tweaks to it and you'll get 25 relevant links every month.

Wow, haven't heard about the Skyscraper technique for a while. This idea has been around a long time but I can't imagine it would work so well now.

It's a lot tougher these days to make people post stuff on their sites or share stuff especially if it comes from people they don't know. I am speaking from experience as those are the sorts of emails I tend to ignore.

I'd love to see an example of someone who's made this work recently.

yeah but that's the main point of link building. what other way can you build links?

Quality content, mentioned socially.

and/or

Quality content that mentions influencers then notify them via social or email that you've talked about them in your post, with a link.

If you build something remarkable and tell some people about it, you'll get backlinks.

Of course you could just partner with niche sites and get mentions via PR, partner pages, etc, etc.

There's 1,000 link building methods, 100 decent ones, 10 inexpensive, 0 that are free, easy, sustainable which are risk-free.

Could someone please explain the skyscraper method to me? Why do you need to send out spam e-mails? What are the benefits of the skyscraper method? To me it sounds like a PBN type of situation but I could be entirely wrong.
