Hi All,

I'm looking to start my own travel brand and have been looking through a few franchise options has anyone ever dealt with or heard of The Holiday Franchise Company?

It's part of Hays Travel which is the NE based company that took over the Thomas Cook travel agent businesses and whose boss had a heart attack and died three weeks ago

Personally I have no knowledge of them.

you will get a lot of opinions on here about franchising in general; from experience (I deal with a few F & B franchises), few are genuinely bad or dodgy, but there are frequently issues around selection processes in both directions.

My advice before proceeding would be:

• Speak to a selection of franchisees - not just the ones they point you to.
• Be absolutely clear on what you are bringing to the franchise (well beyond cash!)
• Be absolutely clear what the franchise is bringing to you.

Hi, i worked in travel for 15 years supplying the travel trade.
If these are indeed part of Hays Travel, then they are a very secure business. Hays Travel has been a successful travel business for many years and did indeed buy up a lot of the Thomas Cook branches and staff when it went bust. Travel has obviously been hit hard in 2020 so you're brave to be going into it but should the bounce back be as big as some anticipate it will be you may have timed it right.

Also, look at Not just Travel - ask for Cherie! She's a friend of mine and a lovely lady who will talk you through franchise options with them as well. Not just Travel are also part of Hays.
