The future of 'Cloud' Computing

I really like cloud computing, but its still in its infancy.

At the moment I use google apps.

I have numerous third party apps linked in, accounting, crm etc.

I went for the trial of Office 365, which finally made me buy the office suite.

I need to make a decision as to whether I stay with Google or move over to Microsoft.

What are you guys using if you've gone the cloud route?

Office 365 is a far more stable option from MS and it was a natural progress point from there somewhat failed BPOS solution.

The question you need to ask yourself is - Do YOU use the functionality of the Office Suite? Something like 85% of Office Users dont use majority of the functions of Office - hence the reason why Google Apps have done so well.

However, in the enterprise space this is different - as businesses have Office part and parcel of there Business Application Set

I think the biggest issue with "cloud" computing is the distinct lack of global definition for what constitutes a cloud.

For instance in my opinion what rackspace offer in terms of "cloud servers" are not truly cloud, Ok they may be billed in that manor, but in hardware terms they are certainly not cloud!

I will admit that things like Microsoft 365 seems good so far, but weather id trust my data in it is another question!
