I went to Tesco earlier to buy some printer ink and couldn't help over hearing an old lady purchasing a £350 laptop and being sold a ridiculously over priced 3 year guarentee. The sales pitch from this 'tech' assistant was clearly well rehearsed. But what really got my wick up was when he 'recommeded' Norton 360 for 3 computers (even though she only had one) and 'it was probably the best on the market really'. I would have jumped in there and then and told him he was full of s*** and given the lady some proper advice but I was tired and unshaven so probably would have come across as too agressive in my angered state.
If Tesco want to try and make themselves look clever by having 'tech' assistants then they need to give good honest advice and not dishonest sale pitches to sell the 2 worst security products on the market (norton, mcafee).
