Saw an advert for it in the paper the other day and when I went in today they had loads of different types in store for most printer brands. It's nearly half the price of the Epsom labelled ink that I'd need. Does anyone know if it's any good or would it be a false economy?

They'll just be 'remanufactured' cartridges with their badge on them. These have been on sale for years, and can be found on most websites, etc.

There is an argument that the remanufactured cartridges are lesser quality, but I use them myself and have always found them to be fine.

There is also a slight possibility that one could leak, but it is slight and I have yet to see it happen.

Half the price of the Epson-brand? I would expect to get my remanufactured cartridges for cheaper than that tbh. Have a search online for your printer, you might be surprised.

I used tesco inks until I bought a CIS (continuous ink system) which I am hoping will save me money and means I can see when my ink levels are running low.
I have always found them to be just as good as the recommended branded ones.

my old printer a epson photo stylus needs 6 lots of ink (5 colours and black) and for years used the inks on svp (http://svp.co.uk/category/epson_ink) they previously had 7 ink cartridges (you got two black) for about £5 and they are rated 10/10 by customer on the site, they werent the same quality as originals (you could only tell the difference when you printed out photos on photo paper) but they are more than acceptable for the price

When I was using Epson compatibles, I noticed that the ink clogged very easily. When I switched back to Epson branded, it stopped. A friend works for them and commented that compatibles are often made with thicker ink which causes these clogs.
