Chris - I am aware of a series of calls that have been made over the recent weeks to advertisers containing this material.

I can advise you that non of these statements are true.

We have recently completed a successful private placing fund raising from existing shareholders, providing additional working capital and to allow us to strengthen our balance sheet by removing bank debt. As an AIM listed company all of this information is in the public domain and can be seen on our company website.

We do not have a single case of an advertiser taking us to court for the non delivery of services. We have cases where we are pursuing the non payment of bookings made via the courts but these are action we are taking, not being taken against us.

These are relatively few in number based on providing advertising to tens of thousands of customers every year.

I can also confirm that we are considering legal action including involving the police on this untruthful and damaging activity.

We have also had a terrible experience in dealing with Ten Alps. I was originally contacted in August 2011 and agreed to place advertising on the basis that payment would not be required until 2012 and would be made in three monthly installments commencing February. To cut a long story short, after receiving a demand for part payment in September I immediately contacted Ten Alps to advise that I did not wish to proceed on the basis that I had been miss-sold the product only to be told that I was still required to pay the invoice.

After again been chased for payment I formally wrote to Ten Alps in October setting out my case and asked that they cancelled my company details from their records and cease any futher communication. I have since received a letter advising that if I did not pay I may incur an 80% cancellation fee, along with threats of legal action. After writing again, I have now received a letter advising that they did not dispute that it had been agreed that payment would not be required until February 2012 when installments would commence. This also allege that after recieving my letter of October 2011 I had a telephone conversation with a manager during which it was agreed that payment would be made in three montly installments starting February and that if I did not pay within 7 days they would have no option other than to commence legal proceedings! Fortunately, I have retained copies of all written communications between my company and Ten Alps which confirms that no such agreement had been made. I will now be writing again to Ten Alps to confirm that I will not hesitate to defend my position should this matter proceed to Court and after reading about others experiences will also be contacting Trading Standards.

i was contacted by Ten Alps in October, cold called and sold a advertising package in a council magazine, i agreed and filled in my name on the email, later to discover this is a legally binding contract, at no point were the terms and conditions explained, and no representative EVER explained the 7 day cancellation process, but within a week a second call came in trying to sell me a place in a separate councils magazine, at a reduced rate no less!, of course i agreed, it wasn't until i starting receiving countless emails, letters, and phone calls demanding payments, and bank details, and the figures quoted were not the same as on the invoice, i became concerned.
I did question the salesman concerning any advertising proof, as i had not received any proofs at all, during these phonecalls i was simply stone-walled, and told the proofs would be coming soon, alas these never appeared, when questioned about the figures, the saleman agreed to look in to it, however the figures remanding the same.

I contacted Ten Alps salesman, to discuss cancelling, as i believed the advertising had been missold. Only to have a completely unprofessional phone call with the gentleman, who was very irate, and on several occasions i had to ask him to calm down and speak to me professionally, eventually i received a phone call from the legal team whom offered me a reduced cancellation rate, i requested that they send a written conformation prior to any money changing hands, that once paid, no further fees would be pursued, to which the legal team agreed. The letter, or email was never received, however i did receive several withheld phone calls each and every day, including emails demanding payment in full, at the same time receiving phone calls from the legal team for the reduced payment. Miscommunication between departments perhaps?
The Ten Alps affair has lasted three weeks now, i would like to point out that i run a small garden maintenance company, and was miss sold building and extension advertising, i contacted both councils, head of building control departments, and explained my situation, both gentleman agreed it had been miss sold, and instructed me to forward their details to Ten Alps, i also contacted trading standards, and after reading previous posts, i will also put it in writing to the CEO. I have lost days of work, and not including nights of sleep due to stress trying to resolve the Ten Alps situation.

I have since been to court with Ten Alps Publications and WON my case!
This was due to the fact that they had miss-sold there product. Initially they had sold me a a 1/4 page advert in the Bradford Buildings and Planning Control magazine in August 2011 stating that I didn't have to pay until the following year, starting with the 1st installment would be starting in February 2012. In other words, buy now pay later. The following month in September 2011, they invoiced me and stated that the bill was immediately payable. This, as far as the Judge was concerned, was a breach of contract, and therefore nullified the agreement. This COWBOY OUTFIT still went out of their way to instigate legal proceedings knowing full well they were in the wrong!!! Make sure you keep all of your correspondence and make sure you log all calls by both parties.
I would say that you should not be intimidated by these charlatans and if needs be go to court. I can assure you that the residing judge will be on your side if you put through your case in a logical manner. By the way, they didn't even have anybody go to court to state their case, an immediate admission of guilt to me. If you need any more advice then please drop me a line. These guys are just blatant crooks in the advertising business and do not deserve to be trading their wares.

I've just googled 'Ten Alps Publishing are Rubbish' and this post came up, so I thought I'd add my bit...

These guys called me too. And after some consideration I thought I'd take up the 1/2 page ad. (due Summer 2013). Their communication was excellent until I 'signed' the contract, then it was a constant barrage of phone calls to sell me further ads in national brochures etc. On receipt of my invoice I noticed that they had listed me in the wrong county, actually the wrong country!

I don't take lightly to that sort of activity, so I immediately called them and cancelled my advert due to what I would classify as incompetence. The response was aggressive and made me even more anxious about having dealings with them. Subsequently, I have no idea what is happening as they are ignoring emails and phone messages. All they seem capable of doing is sending threatening invoices (with the wrong details on them). So, my advice to anybody is to AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!

Got tricked by this company in 2011. Aggressive selling. Promised me the earth and got nothing. Not even one call. Ended up with a CCJ. Their advertising is a total sham. Sorry they scammed you as well Crown Doors, also I see earlier in the thread that Ten Alps claim that they came to an amicable agreement with me! The amicable agreement meant cancelling the so called advertising and me still having to pay 90% of it. Also Ten Alps amicable agreement claim with Sidney S is a complete lie because the name Sidney S is neither my name or a company trading name, Sidney S was lifted from the Viz character Sidney Smut. Haha got you Ten Alps outed again as liars! Trust me you won't have heard the last of Sidney S!

Also just checked the date of the message which claims the amicable agreement, well, the so called amicable agreement forced onto me was several months after Ten Alps announcement on this thread, the agreement was made over the phone there and then, so was unplanned in advance by Ten Alps!

I've recently fallen for this scam and signed up a couple of dodgy contracts

I did cancel one within the time limit but the are refusing to acknowledge it, I've not paid a penny which currently stands at nearly 2k, and I've emailed them withdrawing my authorisation and not authorised any artwork. What do I do? They are not accepting anything and just keep saying that I signed and therefore they are going to print

Ten Alps have ripped me too..... more to follow... exactly the same marketing, wasting the 'distance selling cooling off period' deliberately uncontactable for this time, then following complaint, replaced publication with website and billed for both, going to court. Out and out crooks!

Hi All I'm writing this as lot's of the complaints here seem fairly old and I want people to know that I'm am having problems with this company right now. If anyone is needing help or can offer me help that would be great.
We received a cold call and showed interest in the original offer of one advert in one ebook guide on our local council website. As my partner is not great with e-mails they asked him to reply to a text with simply "LABC and his name". He had no idea he was tied into anything from this text but they left it a week and them bombarded us with invoices by e-mails and threats to take us to court. We never even agreed to use any of their services but they seem to know what they are doing with making it look like we agreed to 3 adverts (which we certainly did not!). It's all happened very quick. I've contacted our local citizen Advice and am waiting for my appointment in a couple of days. Feeling worried that they are going to tie us up in knots. Currently they have invoiced us for £834...i don't know how this is going to go but looks like I'm going to court. solicitors call is next on my list....
