Completely new to ecommerce. I want to send emails to potential clients in a nice non-spammy way. Are there any templates anywhere to help. I'm selling Wall Art.

To be honest, nobody likes receiving e-mails that try to sell them something (viagra is a good example) and people generally don't enjoy getting emails off of people or company they aren't exactly familiar with.
To not be marked as a spammer you should look into doing the following:
Try to only send to people who have opted in to having email sent to you (this will mean they have given you permission to send them emails by opting into a mailing list of some sort so you wont be marked as a spammer)
While sending HTML email (an email that looks good) always provide a non HTML (text email) too which will decrease the chances of your email being marked as spam and also increase the chances of your emails being read as most email clients don't display images until the user has told the client to.
ALWAYS have an option to unsubscribe from your emails clearly displaying somewhere on your email as you are originally sending to people who either done know you or didn't want your email in the first place
Clearly label in the subject exactly what the e-mails about so that you give the choice to the user the choice of wanting to read it or not. For example, if I see a bad website needing a desperate redesign, I contact the owner and in the subject I clearly state in capital letters its a PROPOSAL before finish off writing the subject that its to do with their website.
Try to build a mailing list. Start off with people such as friends, family and past clients who can then potentially pass the email on to other people.
Do your best to not make the email into a sales pitch because they naturally get ignored (buy this and it will do this!) and bad habits die hard so the chances of your email getting any attention will slim down.
Try to build a relationship with the person receiving the email and then go from their. One good method of doing this is trying to tailor the email to be as personal as possible rather than a generic email looking like its been mass mailed out without any thought. Like addressing them by their name, and showing you've research a little about them. Make small talk and then ease your way into a sales pitch.
Implement clever marketing techniques such as making them feel as though your not trying to sell them anything, your actually trying to do them a favor which will also increase your chances of your email being taken seriously.
