I have been thinking of enlisting the assistance of a tele marketing firm to research a new market for me and then to tele market after a direct mailshot has been sent out.

Does anyone have any experience of such marketing companies and any advice on the outcome of such work?

Wish I could offer advice but...not a clue, however I am very intrested to hear what others have to say as this is potentially a good way to get exposure.

Have you had any quotes for this kind of work Mark? is it expensive?

I would be happy to discuss this project with you!!

My charges are a lot less due to the fact that i am freelance from home. I work with a number of people on UKBF and have had some very successful campaigns and would go as far to say that i can provide testimonials if they are required. (0208 207 1217)

Keith - Im still waiting for you to come back to me with a start date, let me know when your feeling better

What about future potential clients and expansion?

Tom I can show you a million + 1 EXAMPLES of companies who don't use the net!

Conversely I used to be in the business and still get ex clients phoning up, unfortunatley some of them are now friends, asking for help with this and that. Or a new site, just recently one ex client got in touch I showed him a really quick down and dirty solution would have cost him £100 at best. What does he want to do? He wants a new site he doesn't need a new site he just needs to exploit what is out there.

I could put web designers out of business with one paragraph, I won't.

There are ways to get a day one site indexed and ranking.

Current website is in build.....

I have a freewebs to give people an idea of what i can do but to be honest its what i can do on the phone that counts as i have stated i am a freelancer from home i am not looking to run a huge company with lots of employees. I have set up by myself as i like to be given a free reign to get on and do what i do best. Not only that but working from home means i can undercut the bigger companies by a large margin and give a guaranteed return on your investment.

Hope this helps

Congratulations. I can show you millions and millions of examples of companies who do. Yet, where in my above statement did I say that they all should? You specified that there was no need if you're currently busy, yet what about in the future?

This is no dig at Dave, and I have absolutely no problem with what he's said in his last post, which is why this is probably best suited to a new thread. Yet it was my point that many people will gain an impression about him that will last - because there's only one first impression. And although it sounds harmless, seeing that you worked in the industry, I'm sure I don't need to explain what a perception of a company has regarding sales. And I believe this was displayed by the fact that I didn't start the concept of a professional website. No, neither did another business man. In fact, a 16 year-old doing his A-Levels brought it up, which to me says something about what people come to expect, especially on an online discussion board.

No, please do. In fact, if you do, and my company isn't rebranding, redesigning, redeveloping, rewriting and marketing a multi, multi million pound company in January, I'll just accept that you're right and subsequently go bankrupt.

We have started to use David and will continue to do so into 2007.

I couldn't care less what kind of website David has, as it his work I am interested in, results, costs, and building up a relationship so that he is part of the team. So far this criteria is being met and we are looking forward to moving into the New Year.

David was recommended to us and I am very grateful to those who did so.

Hang on Tom, don't go bankrupt before you do our site, if we do eventually go ahead! :D

And I really wish this is how it should be. Companies should be chosen over their ability to perform, and based on what people have said about Dave, he certainly seems good at what he does. It's great that he's getting recommendations, and, of course, because he's not selling design services, you'd think it wouldn't matter too much. It's more of the cold-visitors that would respond to it, rather than a recommendation.

Well, a promise is a promise, Mike ;) I'll do my best to stay in business, though.

Hi Mark

"... and then to tele market after a direct mailshot has been sent out.

I own a direct marketing services and mailing house company so if you decide to go ahead with this project I'd love to hear from you! We specialise in mailings, data processing, data analysis, collation, fulfilment, packing and email broadcasting amongst the most important bits.

Can't add the link to our website as I haven't posted enough but PM or call me and we can have a chat.
