Hi guys,

I'm moving back into the taxi & ph industry, and was wondering if there was anyone out there who's also in this sector.

I've got some exciting plans for improving the industry, and would love to get some sanity checks and feedback as to how I can make your lives easier.

James not in the taxi industry but looked into being a private hire driver with a company.Certainly not cheap.Seems to take quite a few hours driving before the moeney starts becoming yours as fixed costs have to be paid off.

Data head/radio hire for week £85. about £4200 for year.
insurance £1500 year
Fuel £120 p/w..about £5000 per year
so there is close to 10k and the buying of car or leasing of car hasnt been taken into account.

Someone did say to me that the first 30 hours in the week the money collected goes towards your fixed costs.Rest of the hours money is yours.

Also looked at taxi firm cant really say there seemed to be a lot of profit there either.Best way to operate there though seems to be having the drivers self employed and them paying rental for radio/ car etc.

Maybe they will be a better proposition when fuel cell cars come out as if fares stay the same then these fuel cell cars supposed to have very good MPG.
