Ok how do we get a self - assesment tax return?

I do not want to do it online. I wote to my tax office about 5 months ago asking for the forms. Nothing. I wrote again 2 months ago. Still I hav recieved nothing


The government expects us to pay tax but they ignore my requests to pay them lol :|

The end of tax year is April 5th we are now April 13th and I have not received any paper work so what am I supposed to do?

The fine me if I don't pay tax but when I do try to pay tax they ignore me lol whats wrong with our silly government!!!

You have until October 31st to file a paper copy of your return - so no real rush or fines pending.

The rush for me is I leave for Spain in 4 weeks now :-(

I explained this in my letters to them.

Please anyone know how I can get one ASAP ?

Tried phoning today and £10 credit down - could not even get through to a human just sat on answer phones and my prepay credit ran out eventually.

This is getting beyond a joke now.

Why don't you want to do it online? It so easy - no forms to wade through, no forms to lose (They send mine in April, I give it to my accountant in oh....June/July ish, if I can still find it then......) in fact this year I asked them NOT to send one as my accountant will simply do it online when he is ready to, rather than waiting for me to give him the form or tell him I don't know where it is, so he had to do it online last year anyway......

Not being one to sing the praises of HMRC, but the tax regime here with regards to deadlines is one of the most forgiving in the world.

I do not want to do it online.

Why don't you want to do it online, it is so much easier. Also, HMRC are seem to be more trusting and less likely to do a tax investigation if you do online.

because I know what bits I need to fill in on the paper one and I can do it quickly.

With the online one it asks me like 1000 questions that are irrelevant to my simple return. Mine is just an in out an profit jobby.

Online I have to click through a thousand irrelevant questions instead of just going straight to the ones i need to answer and sending off.

I can file it online for you (for a massively reduced fee as I have some spare time). As long as you have your UTR, it won't be a problem.
