Tax return help

Hi all,

I'm filling in my first tax return as self-employed and confused where to put the correct figures!

My business is simple, there's no dividends, interest etc. I simply have three figures; turnover, expenses, my salary.

Where would I put these figures? On the Income page there's three sections; UK interest etc and dividends, UK pensions, annuities and other State benefits received, and Other UK income not included on supplementary pages.

Did you answer the questions on page 2? If you are self employed, it's covered there and when you tick the box you will be asked to complete supplementary pages relating to self employment.

Your "salary" isn't a tax deductible expense and doesn't go anywhere on the return

Ah, I'm filling in a paper return. It's for tax year 07-08. They advised me it's most likely beyond the date when it can be submitted but the tax they determined I owe was about 5x more than I actually owe. They've advised me to send it in and they'll see what they can do. However, there's no supplementary pages?
