Task/workflow management recommendations

Evening techies!

I know this crops up every now and again but I feel like I'm going round in circles so I thought I'd post something fresh.

I'm looking for a new system to manage both one off and recurring tasks. Requirements are:

Cloud based
iPhone access
Ability to create projects/categories to link a task to
Ability to create clients/contacts to link a task to
*Ability to create custom fields to monitor stages of progress

*This seems to be the one where the majority fall short. I don't want to know that a task is simply not started/in progress/complete, I want to be able to define these options specially myself.

Other features would of course be welcome but those are the basics off the top of my head.

The company Wrike have a good system you can use, here's the site if you want to have a look.
www.wrike.com. A mate of mine uses them in his business and reckons it has everything you could need when it comes to task management.

We've spent a significant amount of time testing a huge range of project management / CRM software but based on your individual requirements, you may find Trello worth playing around with to see it it caters for your needs.

Have you looked into Asana before (think) it covers those bases.

Thanks guys, some good suggestions there and i'm playing around with them all. I'm also looking closely at Insightly which has a couple of things the others don't but then falls short elsewhere.

I guess it's another case of searching for that elusive holy grail.

I've a similar requirement Kevin so it would be good to get your feedback from the various systems.

Anything but paying for and using MS Project!

Actually, one additional requirement is that it's a UK based hosted cloud service. US data laws are far more liberal than the UK. Any suggestions appreciated.

If you have google account, and using google docs, you can try www.kanbanchi.com - this integrates nicely into Google tools ecosystem

I've spent so much time over the years trying different systems but there's always something missing that we needed from a functionality purpose no matter what I tried out.

Gave up in the end and wrote our own internal one as a Joomla component
