We are looking to purchase some B2B data to offer our services to businesses that may have a use for it.

We offer a tarmacadam and asphalting maintenance and repair service mainly for business premises carparks. This is mainly patching and pothole repair along with some line marking services.

We currently advertise in yellow pages and yell.com along with some other print advertising but are looking to target by mail or telephone Businesses that could use our service.

The data we require would be
(1) freehold premises with a CARPARK and/or approach road they have responsibility for. This could be manufacturing, leisure or office premises as long as they have sole responsibility for it, I.e. It's not a shared building with numerous tenants.
(2) a named decision maker, this could be the owner or director but they on there own would ideally be able to make decisions.

I don't know if this sort of data is available but I do know if we could get it it would make marketing our service a lot easier than it is know.

Any help/pointers gratefully received

Normally that kind of data isn't readily available, However, We can provide prospecting data based on number of employees with DM contacts.

I'm thinking any company with more than 10 employees at one given location is likely to have their own private car park. - makes sense.
Have you thought about targeting freight/haulage companies as I would suspect that most of them would need to maintain their vehicle warehousing/storage areas on a regular basis.

btw have you tried any opt-in email marketing campaigns yet?

Perhaps you should give me a call and then I can see what data I have that ought to be suitable for you.

Kind Regards

I firstly suspect that your ad's in the Yellow Pages and Yell, are wrong for what you want, ie more leads and sales.

I can say this because as a 30 year veteran of marketing and business grwoth consultancy, in several countries, most small and medium sized businesses are sadly deficient in advertising knowledge, what to say, where to say it, how to say it.

In reality in my experience, many, if not MOST SMEs may as well throw money out of the window, instead.

If you have a/ depended on advice from the Yellow Pages salesperson, apart from ordinarily knowing nothing about effective advertising, b/ their agenda is not the same as yours.

If findamentally you put ads comparable to your competitors, in media and in message, then how can that set you apart? If you do what they do, you'll get what they get. i.e. modest single digit results at best.

Think about what you do that is different (better) to the competition. Consider classified ads offering a white paper objectively informing potential clients what they need to know before making a decision to buy the kind of service you offer.

Small low cost classifieds, tested repeatedly til you find a winning formula of media and message, when employed consistently, can create all the leads you'll ever need.

I'd be pleased to expand on this if you contact me directly.

We have a client who runs a magazine which goes out in print and online versions to around 75,000 UK business owners. You can get a 1/4 page ad from only £150 and that lasts for over 2 months. Alternatively we have many other B2B advertising options so you can compare the rates against the time and cost of buying data which is very often outdated.
