Swing Tags worth the extra cost?

When you buy an item of clothing in a store, do you think swing tags make it look more exclusive than no tags or are you not bothered?

Can't decide whether to add 10p in money and a minute or so in time to each garment to tag it.

As it is a new brand I guess it would promote brand awareness.

Would you go this this extra expense? There is already a woven label with the brand name inside the garment.

For me a swing tag will make me think bulk manufacturing, I prefer items in independent shops to be homemade. I love the little card tags with the price written in biro) this reassures me a certain level of exclusivity!

Correct labelling can massively increase your margins as well as level of sales by adding perceived value and giving a customer confidence

A cheap swing tag does not add value and can harm it but a quality one can and will

As always it all depends but your start point should be what will it cost - how much more can I maybe charge - how might sales increase (harder to quantify)

It can be crafty look - or mass produced look - etc etc - it all depends on your business and your gear

But it does work

Our customers have found that professional (ie printed) labels have helped to increase sales.

The key thing for most is the price - it needs to be in a large font to stop people straining their eyes.

Another thing that is important for some is product information - the size, colour, brand etc all go towards informing the customer without them having to delve inside the garment etc for the details on a tag.

The experience of our customers suggests that properly printed labels are well worth the investment. The same goes for shelf-edge labels, if all items aren't labelled individually.
