Hi Group

Recently purchased some new software at www.xsitepro.com. Completed the tutorial included, uploaded example webite, encountered no problems whatsoever!

Now I've started to create my own personal sites, I test FTP connection, its fine, upload thw webpages, transfer complete is fine, but when it comes to finally view the pages, all get is the company where I purchased the domain and hosting from, one of their pages. I suspect it maybe AOL but if it is, why did the tutorial website upload ok?

Its complicated but I cant change AOL, due to where I live, and only allowed dial up connection too. Can anyone shed any light on this?Would be much appreciated...If it is AOL,is their a way around it?...I have got in contact with the software support department, awaiting reply...

thanks in advance.

When you say all that you get is one of the hosting companies pages - do you mean a standard "holding" page????

This page is usually held in the site root as index.htm (or index.html) - and this is what all web-browsers look for first, if your site is using another extension (.php for example) then the initial index.html page will take priority - try FTP'ing into your website and make sure all your files are there, if they are then try deleting the index.htm(l) file and see if that fix's things...

You might not be able to change them as far as using them for a connection to the internet, but you can certainly host your site anywhere you like.
