support for mastercard securecode / verified by visa

Does anyone know of any ecommerce platforms that currently support seamless payments authenticated by 'Mastercard Securecode' and 'Verified by Visa'?

I have a site that currently runs on Volusion, which -at present- doesn't support the above. This means I'm currently unable to accept Maestro payments which is perhaps just a minor inconvenience. What is definitely worrying however is that I've now been told by my merchant gateway provider (Worldpay) that soon ALL Mastercard and Visa payments will require this extra level of authentication. Thus meaning I effectively won't be able to accept any card payments online!

Any suggestions? If anyone could point me in the direction of a decent ecommerce platform (and compatible merchant gateway provider) that supports Mastercode Securecode and Verified by Visa, it would much appreciated!

Cheers, Steve

Hi,

We have implemented various Payment Service Providers for various clients, these PSP's include: WorldPay, PayPal and Protx.

Depending on the PSP or how the integration is done there should be facility to check for this to redirect the user to the bank if you're proving all the secure pages, or the PSP should redirect the user to the bank if the user is redirected to their site.
Protx is very good option for both these scenarios.

There are also settings within the PSPs control panel to check or even ignore 3DSecure (Verified by Visa / MasterCard Secure code) since this technology has not been that stable in that its not always up (ie cancelling/skipping the banks prompt is possible and transactions can still go through)

In our experience, transferring the user to the PSPs secure site is the best way to integrate, any upgrades with regards Verified by Visa / MasterCard Secure code or updated/new features dont need to be updated or tested on the website as often.

Hope this helps.

I have to admit I don't really understand all of the above post, but I can vouch 100% that Verified by Visa is far from secure. I'm just interested to know as its not something we have looked at, but what other options do we have besides this if we are using Barclays EPDQ, does anyone have any idea?

Sorry to crash your thread :)

I use Netbanx... have done for almost 5 years... fully 3D Secure (which is the industry term for Verified By VISA and Mastercard Secure Code).

At first glance their implementation instructions appear somewhat complicated compared to some others but actually once you get down to it, it's very straightforward.

I've done it so many times now I could probably do it with my eyes closed.

Steve, did you find a solution? I'm in the same boat with Volusion unfortunately.. :(

As you're using a hosted solution then you could swap to the provider I'm with www.internetretailer.biz I use both mastercard securecode and verified by visa on my website and I have Worldpay/Streamline as my PSP which was integrated with no problem whatsoever and I get no issues with the authentication, in fact I've had both since they were available and before it became compulsory on Maestro and have to say I find it very useful.

Yes, Volusion is a hosted package only, as is Internet Retailer, however if you speak to David (he's Quikshop on this forum) he may be able to advise whether your design is integratable with the IR software - do you have all of the design files, design right etc etc for the work carried out and is there any terms restricting what information you can port elsewhere?
