We have contacted a supplier and they are requesting we fax a copy of our headed paper to them before we can start using them.

We are quite a new company and have not got round to getting any stationary (we are online only).

What is expected to show on this headed paper?

Thanks

They just want to check that you are a real company/business rather than just some guy off the street. Shouldn't take more than a few minutes to get a basic letter head made up. Just include all the company details - address, contacts etc.

Yeah, I get this from suppliers myself. Not sure what it is supposed to prove, because anyone can knock something up in Word in 5 minutes with all the relevant details on (or if you were not a legitimate business buyer then you could knock up a false one!).

Always seems a bit pointless to me, but we play along.....

all

for info ALL company documentation going externally - for a LTD co - MUST, by law, now show:

registered company name
where company registered (England or England & Wales)
company registration number
Registered company office address
VAT Reg number (if applicable)

THIS INCLUDES EMAILS!!!

If you want I can dredge through for links to prove this, or you can take my word for it! The new rules came into force from December 2007
