I am looking to link up with a charity for my business (as per my signature), does anyone have suggestions on suitable charities? ... if you have a charity that would be interested in linking up please PM me.

Try your local Lions Club . All funds raised go to charity. Almost all fellow businesmen and great for live networking. My local bracnh has about 3 letting agents - 2 big estate agents and you may wonder why all the senior police officers in the area are the same make. Seriously great real network then and a great fellowship of like minded men that like to give something back to the community.

Charities are pretty easy to get hold of, i've got a dozen or so affiliated with one of my websites. Just pick one and call them, some companies you struggle to get hold of the person you need to speak with, with charities it was fairly easy to speak with the right contact.

Good luck!

They usually have several long term projects and you can choose to support a particular one like in our are we have a school for the handicaped. I support that one. My best pal supports an amateur boxing club for youngsters.

You can also start your own under the Lions umbrella My chapter dont know it yet but when I got hit hard by a costly divorce and the brewery shafted me on the beer deposit on my last pub 3 of the guys had a personal whip round and came up with £2.5K to tide me other. I paid that back but this year I am hoping to create an official fund by laying on a special dinner for the whole region. A sort olf start again entreneurs fund.

If anyone in the county need a couple of K no qujsetions askek they borow from the fund.

Anyway. Most charities these days are top heavy with paid for pros on lucrative salaries and i don't think to much of that idea. The only other two I support are Mcmillans Nurses and the Lifeboat Association. Both well deserving.

Help for Heroes

This is my charity of Choice, not because i Live in Colchester, Essex. Home of the 16 Air Assault Brigade.

As the British Army's rapid response formation, 16 Air Assault Brigade has served in the vanguard of all the armies recent operational deployments to Sierra Leone, Macedonia, Iraq and Afghanistan and is the largest brigade in the British Army with 8,000 personnel. Its structure makes it a highly flexible and capable unit. It comprises a Formation Reconnaissance Squadron, an artillery regiment with an attached air defence battery, an engineer regiment, two parachute infantry battalions and two air assault infantry battalions, three aviation regiments, logistics, medical and mechanical engineering regiments or battalions and the Pathfinder group.

The brigade HQ is based in Colchester Garrison and is under the operational command of the tri-service Joint Helicopter Command (JHC) and is assigned to the British-led Allied Rapid Reaction Corps of NATO as Corps Troops

You could always try and something like tree planting charity (like The Heart of England Forest) - this gives environmental benefits to the country and social benefits (they take kids out of inner city schools and get them involved in nature, planting trees etc) and will leave a great big positive mark with your donation money?

Can I suggest The Police Rehabilitation Centre - www.flinthouse.co.uk

These guys are a charity who are dedicated to treating officers treated in the line of duty, and who have seen situations most of us can't imagine.

Whilst I think Help for Heros is immense and the work they are doing super I also believe we often forget there are other forces working for us who don't get the media attention they all deserve.

They are funded by existing police force memberships and charity.

Text donation is now one of the easiest way to donate across the world specially if you are on the drive or busy in your work and want to donate 10 or 5$ you can do it by single message and in Canada if anyone want to get such service to collect money in no time just Go to Text to Charity and you will get all the details!
