Submission form

Hey All

I am having trouble with creating a submission form with the web host I use and so I thought about using a computer program that is independant from my web host to create the form. Is this possible and if so can anyone recommend a program?

Regards

Chris

Not quite sure what you mean when you say "submission". Do you just mean a standard HTML form?

If this helps I've got a site called formfox.net which is designed for that exact purpose. It's not been going too long and may still have some teething troubles, but it should help you design a form which you can then link to. When people fill in the form, the results are e-mailed to you.

Hi Chris

If you use FrontPage, forms are quite easy, but your host must run FP Extensions. But there are loads of scripts you can use instead, including PHP/Perl, Java and Flash.

Just Google for "form script" and you will be spoilt for choice.

Are you having problems creating the form itself or actually getting the form to do what you want once the person has hit the submit button?

If it is 1) then any WYSIWYG html program will be able to do it without any problems (like Dreamweaver)

For option 2 it is a little more complicated as it depends which scripting languages the webhost supports (CGI/perl, ASP, PHP, Frontpage extensions etc). There are off the shelf solutions for these but if you have a basic knowledge of the scripting language they are not overly compliacated to create your own.
