SUB Contracted and self Assessment HELP PLEASE

Hi just a bit of advice before i submit my self assessment. If i worked for someone under the Construction Industry Scheme as a sub contractor and i paid 20% on my wages per week in tax.....would i include the income i recieved after being taxed on this period of work or dont include it as i have already paid tax on it??? Please help

You include the gross amount ie before tax as your income.

Your tax is calculated on your gross income less your tax free allowances so your income less your allowances is what you pay tax on.

The CIS tax which has been taken off your income is deducted from the tax due leaving a refund or a balance to pay depending on your income etc.
