Studying for ATT?

Hello

A while back I came on this forum to ask for advice as to whether to reinstate my ICAEW membership in order to enter private practice. After some interesting responses and a lot of thought I have decided not to spend nearly £1000 to be readmitted as I only want a small part-time practice and I believe that I can build that without ACA after my name (it was a tough decision and definitely one where I had to battle with my ego!!!).

I am still looking to study for ATT and would like a bit of further advice. I know that I need 2 years of taxation experience for ATT membership but wondered whether I can get that from my own private practice? Clearly I won't have an ATT practicing certificate (or their equivalent, if it exists) so can I work for myself doing private taxation work whilst studying for ATT?

As last time, you advice is much appreciated.

As a member I should know but I'd call the ATT and get the answer from them to be certain.

Good luck:)
