I've been reading posts regarding payment providers and I'm shock that Stripe is rarely if ever mention. Stripe allows you to accept payments via credit/debit card from around the world.

Stripe can be set up in minutes with no hassle at all. If they can't confirm you by your address you simply need to upload I.D to get up and running which is verified instantly!

Charges are below 2.9% and you may take £20,000 every month before they will wish to do any security checks.

What's more most major platforms such as Shopify, Wordpress (Woo Commerce) will have this integrated in the check out. You can of course send invoices if needed as well.

Payments are paid to your bank account 7 days after a charge is made and always runs smoothly.

Stripe accepts all European and American clients.

If you need any more info feel free to contact me and I will advice and help you get up and running.

Stripe are mentioned quite a lot, quite often due to problems with accounts being closed leaving business with no access to there money and no way to take payments..
The problem i have with then (or stopping me using them) is the high %rate charge and the fact that it takes 7 days to get your money. If they are competing with the like of PayPal they need to provide much quicker access to your money.

Yes I agree payouts are slower Wordpay offer payments the next day. All payment processors will close accounts if they deem your business risky. What was it or is it?

What rate of percentage does Paypal charge? Would be good for people to compare.
Stripe is:
Pricing in the United Kingdom
1.4% + 20p
European cards

2.9% + 20p
Non-European cards

I haven't personally used them, just reporting on what others have said as you seemed to think no one has mentioned them.
The only problem I have is the getting hold of the money quickly, although some might say I shouldn't need the money that quick, its more the principle of someone holding onto my money for no good reason. There is no need for delayed payment in this modern world, its just a hidden way for someone to make money.

The module used for my site when selecting stripe just asks a customer to enter their card details, then they click pay. It does not seem very safe and secure which is why I don't use them currently. Maybe the module is old, like my site, but I cant believe a customer will enter any details without it at least looking secure.

That's a good point I use invoices and outside Woo Commerce Plug In's not the standard form that appears with Stripe as it looks a little basic.

I guest it depends on how easy it would be to use such forms depending on your technical web design knowledge or knowledge of Wordpress Plug In's and invoices.

For the record it's now the FSA. And further more I do not use Stripe with my current business but thanks for informing me of what I already knew.

Looks like people are a little stuck in their ways it seems a lot of negativity around Stripe or maybe that's just the attitude of forum members. Rather depressing but I guest the successful are business running businesses while the unsuccessful bitter types hang in forums. Don't worry this is my first and last day on this forum.

Don't wish to appear unduly bitter, but I think it is FCA (http://www.fca.org.uk/). "The FSA has now become two separate regulatory authorities and this site is no longer updated."

Equally, I'm not negative about Stripe. Their approach is so similar to PayPal's in terms of how they close down accounts for businesses they don't understand that they are now second only to PayPal as a source of new business for us.

Please don't be offended, but I genuinely don't think people here are bitter. Your original post implied you were a Stripe user and your other posts suggested you were using Stripe for betting, so I thought you might appreciate knowing you were doing something they prohibited.

Sure there is rough and tumble around here, but you are welcome to give as good as you get. I would be really pleased if you continue to post here, and look forward to hearing from you again soon.

Now, now, don't flounce off in a huff just because of a nasty comment or two.
