Stripe, Square or Braintree?

Can anyone share their experience or opinion on these payment gateways: Stripe, Square or Braintree?

We are a service provide, so will be emailing invoices with a 'pay here' button.

Stripe is looking the cheapest so far (1.4% + 20p) then Square (1.75% for physical transactions or 2.5% for keyed-in & online), followed by Braintree (1.9% + 20p)

I value any comments on general customer service and ease of use?

Have been using Stripe for a couple of years with no problems at all, so would happily recommend them. Have only had reason to contact their customer service once, a query about testing. They got straight back to me and all was well. Whether you can use Stripe in the way you mention above I do not know.

I recommend Stripe. Never had any issues and their fees are not bad either. Been using Stripe as a main card payment processor for 3 years now.

You could perhaps consider using waveapps. I think they have what you need when it comes to your requirements. Sending email invoices with a "pay here" button. The fees for European issued cards are 1.4%+20p. The fees are however higher for non-European issued cards.

Been using Braintree for 2+ years

NO issues and the 0% transaction fee starter offer was a great boast for me at the start, they also offer free access to security metrics, which is handy for PCI DSS

I don't think Stripe do invoices - I think you need to subscribe to an extension with a different service provider. I'm sure a user will be along to explain.

i would not recommend any of the above unless you're a business with low volume, low transaction values and high profit margins. The above also take upto 1 week to settle the money in your bank account. There are other providers out there that can offer rates as low as 0.21% and settle next day.
