Streamline terminal & Chargebacks?

Spoke to my bank manager (Natwest) and they recommend Streamline as 90% of my orders are from the USA, however I am concerned that if I supply my product that sells for $1200 and ship it to the USA an additional $295, if they dispute the transaction I will lose alot of business.

I read in the press that one user of Streamline was sueing them as they have processed £250K in chargebacks to this one company.

Now what can I do to safe guard myself from someone fraudulently using a card to get the product then disputing the payment, costing me a huge loss?

Obviously, if it is a business I can get them to supply an official purchase order and providing we ship to the billing address I should be fine?

Or get them to complete a credit card form (a competitor does this) and email it back with the order.

Telephone only, most of them will be American Federal bodies, I was staggered to find that all of them want to pay on a credit card...hence the questions. Otherwise US businesses such as Disney, Universal Studios etc and the odd domestic sale.

Geester. heres the website for Streamline, have you read all on the website regarding MOTO sale transactions?

head to streamline dot com

and look for customer support (top left website, then follow link for moto sales/international)

If you are doing moto sales, how do you know the person(s) at the end of the call isnt trying to scam your company? especially with all these scare stories of companies being hacked and bank card details potentinally are in the hands of dodgy dave??

Chargebacks are slightly different as people can phone up the bank and refuse payment, my advice is phone Gateshead our head office customer service team
on 08457 61 62 63 option 1 and ask.

From the technical point of view, every company is at risk doing international payments check with your bank to see what they cover you for. Remember streamline isnt the one stopping the payment they have to work with the banks and unfortunatley with sending goods overseas you might lose money.

First Ask the helpdesk where we stand
