Stopping certain network providers seeing your website?

Is this possible?

A certain network and location in India keeps viewing my site, sometimes up to 15 times a day over the past few days.

This usually means someone is studying it to copy the content. This happens a lot.

Is there a way of blocking network providers from viewing your website?

You can block IP addresses and IP ranges. You would need to find out what range they have and block it.

Is there an easy way of doing this? I know what Network Name (ISP I think) they are using...

Do you have access to their IP address in your server logs?

That will be the easiest way to block them.

To be honest, they may be completely legit, although as I don't provide a service outside of the UK it is unlikely they're interested in doing business with me.

If it was a quick fix, it may have been worth pursuing, but I think i'll just wait to see the content on whichever site it ends up on!

simply check their ip using php ($_server['remote_addr']) and dont load the css files or redirect them to a fake website.. you can do anything really.

I'd say blocking an IP address should be a last resort. Only if say they're flooding your server or trying to hack your site. It is practically impossible to prevent being copied. I get asked a lot, by clients, if it's possible to prevent the users from copying content from their site, but it's risky business so you're better of not doing it. It might well be a legit person, or even a British person working through a proxy server (fair enough that's quite unlikely, but you never know). If it's no harm why bother. They can use an open UK proxy anyway if they want to copy your site really bad.

The Chinese government didn't manage to block Google. I doubt you'd be able to block somebody from accessing your website. That's the beauty of the internet
