Hi,
Sorry to just register and ask for help without contributing anything first!
I run a computer recycling company, we take computers/laptops/projectors/you name it from Schools, businesses and individuals to Recycle.
Ultimately we refurbish what we can, re-sell what we can, and strip down what we can't to be sent to other companies to do hard-recycling if required.
Part of my set-up requires a T11 Exemption of the WEEE directive by refurbishing, and one of the clauses of this exemption is that I can fully track my stock.
I need some software that can help track
1) When I got a certain machine, and where I got it from
2) how long I kept it for
3) Who I sold it to.
To add an extra twist, the software would need to be fairly clever, I may get three of the same make/model computers from one company, I might sell one straight on, one may have a dead motherboard, so I would strip it into bits and sell individual parts and send the motherboard for hard recycling, the other might sit on the shelf for three months before anyone buys it.
I'll need to keep all records for a minimum of two years, too...
Essentially I'll need software where I can make one entry "turn into" multiple entries, so I can track say, a stick of RAM by it's serial number from start to finish.
Can anyone recommend any software that could do the job?
I'm sorry if that was a bit... rambly...
Thanks,
Tom
