Stock control advice needed

I work for events promoter, London Warehouse Events. We have recently purchased 2000 lockers which we use for our events instead of the cloakroom service (much more effective and quicker!)

Looking into improving the system now. As a lot of people complain when they stuff get stolen from the locker (because they share the key with their friend etc) I was hoping to introduce stock control software / barcode system that would enable us to:
- scan the barcode on the key as customer picks it up
- inset customer's name into the system on the pick up (needs to be easy and quick to action)

Has anyone got any recommendations/ideas?

I can't name any specific software, but it sounds to me that you need some kind of very simple "rental" software. You could "rent" the key out and track returns. At the most basic solution, you could use a Excel spread sheet.
