Statutory accounts

Is it a legal requirement to keep statutory accounts as hard copy?
Would it not be sufficient if we keep the set of statutory accounts in soft copy and do not print them, as they are anyways filed online.

Not 100% sure but I think there has to be a signed copy, hence paper copy.
