Hi Guys, ;)
I'm new to all this!!! I have worked on a PAYE basis for numerous firms as a bookkeeper, account manager and payroll manager for the last 10 years and recently decided that I wanted the qualifications to go woth the jobs therefore have started studying towards my ICB level 1 & 2 manual bookkeeping. I am ploughing through my course ( I study about 20 hours a week which is 12 hours more than recommended to complete the course in 6 months!!!):)
I am looking for advice now on what I will need to do to get up and running as a Self Employeed Bookkeeper/Payroll Clerk etc??? I have had experience with CIS deductions too!
I am looking to operate from home, so I am unsure what software to get??? I want bookkeeping and payroll software that can manage the staff and accounts for more than one company as I hope to have multiple clients??? What can anyone sugggest??? I don't want to pay a fortune for something that isn't going to give me any return! :)
Thanx
xxx

who are your target clients?
I am mainly concerntrating on SME, Sole traders, and new businesses. I have a lot of potential clients waiting for me to get started in the construction and direct sales industry.

how much will you charge them?
I am unsure as to what to charge...I know a Bookkeeper 15 miles away charges an hourly rate of £17, but then a few of the direct sellers I know have said they normally just pay a lump sum at the end of each month or year.

will they pay this?
There are plenty of demand for it and sure people will pay as I know a lot of people do take their "books" straight to an Accountant which if they have to sort out just a pile of papers will cost a small fortune!!

how many clients do you need to achieve your budgeted income?
I currently have no budget income! My partner has quite a successful direct sales business and nutrition company, so all the money I earn will b pocket money at the moment. I would just like to establish something for myself, and a earn money too as I like my independance and love shopping!!!

i.e. is there a demand?
As i said there is definately people willing to pay me to do it and have already spoken to potential clients that all sound very enthusiastic!!!:)
