Starting up an online plus size clothing store

I’m starting up a plus-size online clothing store and would like some help/advice with regards to website development, buying stock from wholesalers who specialise in plus-size clothing and any tips of the trade would be incredibly useful.

All I can say is that finding plus size clothing ready made is incredibly difficult. There are already large chains who specialise in it but they make their own.

The other major problem with the plus size market is the sheer amount of sizes that you need. A conventional clothes shop can stock sizes 8, 10, 12 and 14 ie. 4 sizes but a plus size shop would have to stock anything from 16 upwards - I don't know how far you want to go sizewise?

The other problem is the fit because larger people have different problem areas. So getting something to fit is going to be difficult regardless of the size. This means you will get an awful lot of returns. Clothing returns currently run at 47% overall. Plus size clothing returns are likely to be higher and this all eats massively into profit margins.

I manufacture some niche plus size clothing myself so have some experience in this regard.
