Starting a wine import business in the Cambridge area

Hi,

Born in central Catalonia wines have always been around me, and now living in Cambridge I found myself with the opportunity of bringing high quality wines at very good prices.

Still looking for options on how to set everything up without adding unnecessary costs to the wine.
Any help is welcomed, since this should be my side project.

I'll be bringing Spanish and Catalan wines, and I already have a list of 30 good wine references .


I'm currently looking at AWRS, trying to become a Registered Consignee (or finding a cheap one as a service), and by 2019Q2 I'll try to start providing wine to more customers.

Hi Marc,

How has it been going for you? Many developments yet? I have just started distributing wines myself down in Bexhill-On-Sea (on the south coast by Hastings) except I'm only buying from suppliers so far not importing. I'd be keen to look into going halves on a pallet with you though as I understand it's not really worth it if you're buying anything less than one whole pallet.

Hi,

I'm starting on Cambridgeshire.
I already have the AWRS , also the first customer, and the first sell. I'm just helping the provider fill up the e-AD(ARC) document so I can get the transport arranged.
I do not plan to sell online at this time, so we could maybe get into a synergy where we help each-other.
I have now added this forum to my 'not to spam' filter, so I hope I will reply faster.
I have like 300 references that I'm allowed to sell all around UK.

Let me know what do you have in mind.

Sure I Think we can find a way to collaborate ...it's such a tough industry that cooperation can help....If you want we can create a Facebook chat , Carousel included...otherwise I don't mind writing here , but I Think that fb chat is easier to manage.

Hi guys, well I'm in Bexhill/St Leonard's/Hastings and I've been supplying and distributing wines now for 4 months. I've ran into quite a few problems. The biggest being storage (where?)and also the Personal Licence plus premises licence combination ( how?). Maybe we could go "thirds" on a palette.
