Starting a personal training website

Hi,

I'm a personal trainer and I was wondering about the best way to get started with an online business. I already have social media but I don't get many enquiries from it. I've not built a website yet and I was wondering what everyone thought of do it yourself websites like Wix?
I would want more people going into my website and signing up for the newsletter and then eventually I would want them to book a free trial training session and then train with me on a regular basis.
What do you think is the best way to do this please?

Thanks

Ses

Hi Ses,

I would recommend several things! The issue like any start up these days in the overcrowded digital world is getting your business/service in front of the right person at the right time!

Either go with a proven agency in your industry who can do the lot for you or do it yourself and be as active and vocal as possible. Things such as:

1. set up google my business page to help local customers who search for "trainer near me" or similar
2. being active on social media and google my business posts on a very regular basis
3. youtube videos showing technique, facilities, equipment etc
4. ask local gyms if you can put flyers/leaflets (brand awareness)
5. logo on your clothing, car/van
6. simple website such as wordpress which will allow you to build several good landing pages and get the email sign ups, plus on there you will find it easy to host videos, image gallery and integrate with your social media
7. over time you can add further functionality to a wordpress site, I think many drag and drop DIY websites such as wix will hinder you in terms of functionality

Currently there is a lot of marketers advertising clickfunnels for your type of service, I have not used that method but possibly it is worth investigating. However I think much of it relies on your spending much money on paid ads.

Good luck with it all.
