I am planning to hire a person and I have been searching about the process for some time. My question is who can help me about all of the steps necessary ?
Should I ask from an accountant, or is there another profession who deals with hiring a person, from start to finish (entering their details online to hmrc, and make sure their social security requirements are met etc).
Briefly, I am looking for the service which can allow me to hire someone, but never think about the process about the related registrations, insurance etc.
Thanks

    An Accountant isn`t going to be an expert in recruitment, but they will be one for payroll. If money isn`t a concern then there is the option of using an agency.

    If it is, you basically upload the job advert to Indeed. CVs will come to you, and you look for skills and experience that match the job. You select a few to interview, ask them to tell you about themselves and why they want the job, explain the role fully, and then ask some questions about their skills and experience to check they are real and to clear up if they will be able to do what is needed or not.

    After than you can find a basic employment contract template online. Type it up, check the wage rate is at least above minimum wage, that you give them their basic holiday entitlement or better, and don`t forget to make it a 6 months trial so you can get rid easily if you need to. Once onboard you need to find an accountants to do the payroll, or if you have accounting software (some online ones are very cheap per month), and some time to watch some YouTube videos to train yourself, there is that option.

    @Newchodge Yes, I am bit exploring the idea for a while, as I have no clue. When the company begin to stand on its own legs, I will.

    @Scalloway useful link, thank you!

    @NickZ Yes I do, and actually it'll be hiring either myself or a director, so that we wont have to go through the most of the traditional steps like interview etc.

    @Blood Lust Thank you for your detailed reply. As I understand from your comment, the accountant is responsible from informing the hmrc about the details of the employee. Do you know whether accountants also are responsible (or can perform) the necessary checks to determine all other aspects of recruitment, such as, determining the amount of the contributions (of the employee) , and paying it to the hmrc ?

    Any payroll provider can do all of that, including, but not limited to, accountants.

    You haven't mentioned right to work checks?

    Generally accountants will only deal with setting up the payroll ie registering you as an employer with HMRC and setting up software to run the payroll, calculating the amounts due and advising you of PAYE, NIC and pension contributions to pay each week/month but do ask your accountant what payroll service(s) they provide and what advice they can offer.

    A payroll provider (such as myself) would be able to help with this. If you'd like to discuss PAYE set up, regular payroll processing and Auto Enrolment duties then please get in touch and I'd be happy to give you some advice/quote. [email protected]

    In terms of employee contracts and policies & procedures, there are lots of HR resources on line which you can download and use for free.

    Good luck!
