Right. Legally you must show the registered office address on your website. But to be honest, it doesn't have to be prominent. Most customers are interested in your trading address, if you have a business where that matters.

You will need an accountant to do your annual return, often they provide registered office addresses.

Thats the problem i face i don't have a business address yet but when i find a accountant i will ask them.

OK. You can alter your registered office address whenever you wish.

The key reason for me using my own address is to be 100% sure that all correspondence comes directly to me. I didnt want the slightest risk of anything going astray.

    Hi,

Don't know if you are still looking to solve your issues but we have just opened our site and can provide a start up package for you.

You can register your company with us for £14.99 and we can also arrange for you to have a registered address in Regent Street, London for an additional fee.

We have developed our service to look after people just like you who are looking to start their own business. With this in mind, we can also arrange for you to be introduced to a commerical lawyer who will have a discussion about all the legal issues with your proposed business, an accountant and a commercial insurance broker who can discuss with you any insurance details you may need to solve later on.

    If you are still looking around, then please check out our site;

    Kindest Regards

My understanding was you can just set one up yourself, if you go through company's house they basically do most of it for you?

Yes you can but for very little extra you usually get a lot more benefits by going through a formation agent. For instance we offer free domain name, email address, Adwords voucher, Kashflow trial & exclusive discount, etc. As well of course as the help and support to complete the application.

Formation agents also offer documents that Companies House do not including printed certificate, etc.

Many people find the process much easier and intuitive using a formation agent too :)

Considering Companies House charge £15 for a very basic no frills formation, you get much more value for money with formation agents.

You would normally use your accountant's address for your registered address - that's a normal service for them to offer, you can then use your home address for mailing or, if you want something more professional then use a serviced office, we offer this service from £15 per month, that includes receiving your mail and putting phone calls through to you (wherever you are) or taking messages (when you are in a meeting, or perhaps swimming!)
There are similar offices around the country, depending on where you are (or where you want to appear to be)
    Hope this helps

Hi! I started my own business as a franchisee for e-stateagent.co.uk and I want to use social media as one way to build interest in my business. I use LinkedIn, Twitter, Google+ and Facebook. I am just sharing relevant content plus some fun things.
Could anyone recommend any other sites?
    Thanks

There are many company formation agents around offering pretty much the same service. Prices can vary drastically. Companies House offer this service for £15. Some agents charge far more than this.

I used 1 click 2 start a company for my start up and they charge £14.99 and my company was set up within 3 hours. Very simple to do.

    Hope this helps

    Heya Ann,

I suggest you should create blogs on bloggers.com, Post on google+, Should promote your business on slideshare, stumble upon, tumblr and write 2 articles referring your services and post them into different directories.

You should write 2 blog posts weekly and be sure that the content should be same on other blogs and social media site posts too.

    All The Best:)

    Hi

I am one of those that used Companies Made Simple. Got the printed package so that I had a tangible letter from Companies House. Got a free domain name. Got a free e-mail address. Paid £29.99. Set up an account with Barclays and they paid me £50 for doing so about 30 days after. Quick and simple. ( they were quick and I was simple)

I used Duport, they offer some other good services (they are my businesses' registered address and forward all my mail) without any issues. They have had some great customer service too.

I think setting up a LTD company cost me £15
