I have a personal account with Starling and I'm very happy with it. I'm thinking about opening a sole trader account with them but before I do I'd like to know if there are any better options out there? I love being able to do everything from the phone app as I hate dealing with banks in person or over the phone. I do not need an overdraft or a credit card at the moment.

As good as anyone, I use Tide and am very happy with them, but you will always hear the odd complaint about any bank. It might also depend what you plan to do as a business, different banks view different industries differently.

I am in property and Starling were awkward about opening an account, Tide passed my application in a matter of minutes, today it might prove to be the other way around.

Thank you! My business is software development primarily so I doubt I'll have many problems.

I have both a business( buy to let ) and a Personal acccount with Starling and I have been very happy with them plus the integration with Xero is great.

I also created a personal account in Euros so I use it via Apple pay to pay in Euros when on holiday thus avoiding any foreign transaction fees. I top it up via wise.com

The bad thing with Starling business is you don't gain any interest on your money. If you have thousands in the account you better off with something like HSBC etc.
