My business banks with Barclays, but they told me they stopped doing standing order forms!

I have downloaded a standing order form - but am unable to make sense of it. Unsure what needs to go on and its very unclear..

Can anyone here please email me or provide a link to a usable standing order form which i can give to my customers to fill out?

I will then forward these on to their appropriate bank.

I am in dire need of one as my new business requires some cashflow!

I would be forever in your gratitude!

Thanks

The S/O is normally set up by the customer to pay you so will be on the customer's bank's form?

Can you provide them with your bank details and ask them to set S/Os up online?

I would, but i dont have faith in my clients to do this. They can be forgetful at the best of times. Hence my need to take the form from them and then post it on their behalf.

Last month was a nightmare cashflow wise...

Try Google and type standing order mandate - you'll get quite a few and can modify one to suit you.

See this link, there's a standing order mandate on the list. You could adapt this.

http://www.budgetcompanyformation.com/budget-company-formation/free-downloads/free-downloads.html

I have one somebody gave me which I've sent to all sorts of banks, it doesn't have to be bank specific. Providing the instructions are clear the bank will accept your own home made template.

Great stuff.

I'll look to amend this and get them to fill it out and then send it to their bank.

Anyone had problems with people not knowing what their bank address is? what do you do in that instance??

Thanks

If they have a sort code - get them to call their bank (main number of the internet should be fine) whilst you are with them. The bank will be able to confirm the exact postal address from the sort code.

If they have a cheque book, the address should also be on that.

It's on the top of cheques in their cheque book, which is presumably where they will pick up the sort code and account number from. If push comes to shove you can usually google the sort code and find the bank address on the net somewhere.

In my experience, it's better to stand over them whilst they fill it in and for me to take it away and post it. Or if I send them a mandate in the post, I send them a stamped addressed envelope to send it back to me. Then I post it to the bank, that way I know it's been done.

If you rely on them sending it to their bank, in 90% of cases, it wont happen.
