Standardisation invoices XML

Does anyone know if there is any standardisation of invoices in XML format ? Is there a standard form Europe or HMRC that people are working towards ? We are doing some system changes and would prefer to future proof this.

I would have thought that all this making tax Digital some form of schema would have been published to ensure standardisation of data across the UK at least ?

BASDA have standards: https://www.basda.org/standards/

I don't know how well they are followed but I do know that Sage use them in their Transaction EMail module.

Its a joke right, you'd think that you standardise inputs first before designing a digital tax system, but not with these people.. Could you possibly design a system first without looking at data quality and input, only the UK tax authorities could do that.
