Can anyone recommend a decent stand alone label printer.

I liked the look of the Dymo Label Writer 400 until I realised that you can only use it with Dymo labels which cost alot more than normal ones!

Any recommendations?

I use to use label printers but I found them very temperamental and replacing them and buying labels got quite expensive. I gave up on the whole do it yourself idea and decided to have a look on the internet to see if the was an easy solution to my label printing nightmares. I found a company called Mercian Labels who do printed labels and they now do all my label printing for me. They are cheap and efficient and I am glad to no longer have to print my labels out myself.

How on Earth would that help someone who has to print one off address labels for deliveries to their customers?
Your post is blatant spam which doesn't help the OP at all.

Well the OP didnt actually specify if they were one off labels or bulk labels. All I was trying to do was actually help the OP by stating there are companies out there that can do what they want.

Its often the case(like for me for instance) that wanted to send loads of labels to the same place, and that way it turned out cheaper than buying my own printer. For one off labels i'm unsure. As said, only trying to help.

Does it have to be stand alone?
I print directly from my Db onto A6 crackback labels, which are customizable as you wish, (font, colour, images, greetings etc.).
(Krakbak being a brand name are expensive, you can get alternatives for about 2.5p/A4, bought by the box).
Best to laser print, as cheap inkjet ink runs in the rain.
