Staff - What to do?

Hi,

I run an outdoor advertising business and get work across the North West.

I don't have any actual staff as the work is sporadic and can be right across the North West so I constantly need new staff in different locations.

What do I need to do to make sure that they're legit, insured etc to be out on the high street with my advertisements?

I presume insurance would depend on what the outdoor advertising actually entails them doing, for a start.

They're riding advertising bikes and walking around with mobile billboards on their backs.

I've used agency staff before but it's really expensive and would like to cut out the middleman.

If you want to employ temporary staff directly, if you don't feel you have the knowledge/expertise, it's likely to be worth getting an HR person to help with drawing up of contracts, you will need to ensure their legal entitlement to work in the UK and that you have appropriate insurance.
