spread the work or all in 1

We are starting a new business, well not completely new, anyway long story short, we are experts in what we do, but our marketing lets us down, don't get me wrong, we know what we need to do, its just we personally cant do it. for instance...
We know we need great engaging copy on our website, we just can't write great engaging copy/
We need better SEO on our website but although we can do some SEO we can't do it all to get exceptional rankings.
We dabble with our ADWORDS But we know it could be vastly improved.
We know we should be utilising facebook marketing but not sure which is best for us.

I could go on.
But is there companies out there that offer the complete package and if yes is that better than finding individuals from several businesses?
And, how the hell do you know if the person you are hiring is anygood, how do you go about finding someone?

we've just had a company round, spent 2 hours chatting to them and they seemed great, but after them saying they would get me something over after the weekend, theyve now replied to my email with, they have been busy with other stuff so will try and get me something over by the end of the week, Not a good start, are they busy because they are good and in demand or are they over subscribed and cant keep up meaning i will never get things done.
Hate knowing what i need to do but then hindered by finding the right person to implement for us. Its hard this business stuff isnt it :)

Regarding your copy problem I've just started working with this lady here Bev Osborne and she's doing a pretty good job. I also tried this writer Nigel at Mightier-than.com (I've linked to his portfolio page as there's some really good examples of his different writing styles). Personally, his writing style didn't slot into what we wanted so we didn't continue working with him but I think he's a great writer and might suit you guys.

Adwords... there's only one guy I'd recommend and he's here - Steve Gibson, he's good!

SEO, the dirtiest marketing channel that I know of with every Tom, Dick and Harry saying they're all experts. Finding a reliable one is difficult but my best advice is that when you speak to them always... always ask them for keywords they've taken to page 1 of Google, ask them the name of the domain, then verify the rankings of that website yourself (SEMRush is a good tool to use for this).

Hope that helps.

Ray

Oh... one last point, spread the work out because you want masters of their trade and not a Jack of all trades.

I think before employing anyone to help with copy, SEO etc, make sure you have a marketing strategy in place.

This will help you understand how to talk about your brand, key benefits which will resonate with your target audience, which channels to use to reach your target audience.

I agree with Ray that you should use specialists for the implementation.

Look for a local marketing agency or freelance that specialises in your sector and target audience. Make sure any strategy they develop has measurable objectives and includes how they would evaluate the success of any activities they recommend. Always take up references before you commission anyone.

Thanks guys, i will check these recommends out Ray, thank you.

Has anyone got a marketing plan i could look at, not really sure other than what ive already explained. we will be doing Adwords, Pushing for some good rankings and making the website engaging to maximise our chances of conversion. we have got several other non online channels we are pursuing as well.
Again thanks for the input, great at what we do, clued up but not so great at marketing and running a business efficiently. :(

If you're focusing on bringing in work and new clients via online opportunities then I'd suggest you look closely at the type of keywords people use in Google that sound like they're precisely the right type of keywords for you guys. Maybe you've done this already?

If you operate in a pre-defined locality ie; town/city or are willing to go county-wide then keywords central to this would be a starting block. Again, if you've been running Adwords then you're likely to have thought this one through.
