Sporting Sponsership

I dont know of anywhere that you'd find a list of such a thing. But I know that a lot of big local companies tend to me interesting in sponsoring football teams, competitions etc.

If you are looking for sponsorship, contact a few companies seeing if they are interested.

Sponsoring teams at anything other than top level tends to be something you do for 'love' - rather than making any tangible money from.

I just bought a local league football team a new away strip. It cost me £400 + VAT. It will be used maybe 10-15 times a year, and seen by very few people outside of family members and friends. If they do well, then a few photos might make the local papers, but I doubt it.

Hi, we receive regular sponsorship requests and have to turn down loads. Things that make us say no are:

Irrelevant requests - for example asking a golf brand to sponsor you for swimming, make sure you research companies current marketing/sponsors to see if you fit in

Spelling - getting the company name wrong!

What is it you are looking to get sponsorship for?

Best of luck :)

I was wondering if there was chance for success being the middle man in these kind of contractual agreements.

Kind of an agency.

Is there anything similiar to this about?

or is it just a no go.

Seeking advice of you all :) Negative also appreciated :)

Ah so people come to you to find a sponsor and you have a database of potential sponsors?

I like it...and personally i havent seen anything like that, as i have been looking for sponsorship myself. If it is out there already, its not easy to find.

Sounds like an interesting idea. I guess it depends on what kind of sponsorship people are going to get in the end, obviously if it's money taking a cut will be simple but if it's a kit deal then it might be more complicated. Might be worth contacting some people who already have sponsorship deals and asking what kinds of deals they get and how they get them. Some sports people may already have a manager who would do it for them. Best of luck with it all.
