Is it possible to split test two different ecommerce stores selling the same products?
In my case I want to test a custom coded store Vs a store using Shopify (for simplicity) with a different layout.
The store resides on a main information website so I think it could be done by using a landing page that would link off to each store. Or perhaps the store URL could split the traffic directly? However my main concern is about SEO. This is an aged site with good traffic (20-30k uniques/month) and I wouldn't want to mess that up.
I basically want to prove that the current store is harming conversion and I imagine that we would then change the layout of the custom coded store to match what we had tested in Shopify.
Can you see any problems with this and any way around them?
Thanks.
