Hi all,
I am guessing Ozzy will be on to give his thoughts shortly.
I kow the idea of reducing a persons ability to post in other places on the forum has been discussed previously and up until now it has been decided to avoid going down that route as we want to get people involved and engaging on the forum straight away (there is nothing quite as frustrating as having something relelvent to post but not being allowed to post it due to restrictions).
I think the removal of spam comes back to Ozz, Alan (alpha) and I as Noderators to remove as quickly as possible. I know I have been absent for a few days due to client pitches and visits and not been able to check as often as possible but I will try to be a bit more pro-active.
Maybe it is cos I am a softy at heart (or want to see the good in people
) but alot of the spam or odd messages i leave for a while in case the author didn't realise what type of forum we are and will change once they look around.
hmm... yeah, I will have to review that train of thought.
Anyway, Don't want to speak on behalf of the other Noderators, but i personally will make a greater effort to check and delete spam more quickly.
p.s. Don't encourage Alan to become more aggressive, we will have no members left :lol:

Spam is a concern for any public forum, not just this one. The only real way to cut it down is for moderators to delete it as quickly as possible.
The no posts until you do an intro is likely to be switched on, as at least that gives one most likely place for the spam to end up - easier to moderate
There is a couple of new features and pages to come onto this forum in the next couple of weeks, including a "How to use the forums" section. Once that is here I think putting in the no posts until an intro will be more appropriate.
