"My advice is to learn as much as you can about the product(s) you are looking to get into, before embarking on purchasing from China."Hi Oli
Working with a sourcing agent is fine as long as you can adhere to the quantities required by the factories.
A good starting point for finding your products is to use Alibaba.com.
You should then use a sourcing agent to verify the supplier, arrange , check and confirm samples from a variety of suppliers and when ready to order, use the agent to oversee the whole transaction from start to finish.
I have only summarised what is required and depending on your selected products (gaming or other), you will also need to adhere to all the certifications required for each product.
I have been sourcing products for UK companies for over 30 years and now live in China to oversee all the work required with the factories we use.
My advice is to learn as much as you can about the product(s) you are looking to get into, before embarking on purchasing from China.
Knowledge and finding the right supplier for all your criteria is key.

Yeah, that's fine. I understand. Although considering I have background actually playing the game, I understand quite a bit. Although licensing is certainly something to look into.It was a general statement.
If it's gaming you should be looking at controllers, mice etc and everything to do with playing on computers.
With regards to games, you need to take into account copyright and licensing.
Whatever category you decide on, there is plenty of research to do, before approaching suppliers.
