Sourcing printed aprons, bags, tshirts

Hi

I am trying to track down a decent supplier for a new range of printed items we want to launch, to include canvas bags, aprons, tshirts etc. I've come across a load of very good and helpful uk outfits, but so far none that is able to provide all of the lines on our specification of product, ie t shirts fine, but aprons wrong size, or bags too light weight. I'm keen to keep it all to a single supplier.

A few people have said to try in India, but our first instinct was to source from the UK. Having now checked google I see that in fact India would have been a better place to start, there are loads of companies who all seem to offer what we are after.

Which in itself creates a new problem, how do I find out which ones to go for? Is anyone aware of a forum or group where I can find any recommendations of what/ where/who to use, or alternatively warnings as to what to stay clear of.

Hi,

Yes manufacturing abroad will be cheaper but there are delivery timescales and ease of negotiation to think of. We have a lot of products manufactured in Taiwan which is great for repeat orders or large runs but for small runs of screen printing etc i would say use a uk supplier. There are 2 local to me who have been great.

Im under the impression your looking to have a broad array of cotton products screen printed? If so why not buy yourself a screen press and attend a short course? this has many benefits not only for this business in question but for future projects.

Any good printer should be willing to order in the items at cost if your putting in an order of 600

If your talking 600 unts of the same product type and design thats should provide some pretty good negotiating leverage.

More likely 2000 per size per colour to get good prices and make shipping worthwhile

Hi We can do a 10 or 12 oz canvas bag but not the t shirts or aprons unfortunately

i have a friend who's currently starting out in the manufacture of bags and printed items from Lahore (she was formerly in the leather trade) prices are def cheaper abroad, but as mentioned to make jobs more cost effective larger quantities are often required. drop me a PM and i'll forward her details, maybe she can help point you in the right direction or even source your products herself
